"We hear the phrase “It takes a village to raise a child” often – but I wonder if it’s even bigger than that. Maybe it takes a village to raise a family. To support parents as they navigate the profound transition into this new role. To carry some of the load so it’s not always one person, one parent, trying to do it all."
This part just hits the soft spot for me, especially now because I'm an immigrant living and raising a family in a country and culture that's foreign and I am evolving as a parent alongside my kids.
That need for support and a village has never been more real for me.
I’m so glad it resonates and gives words to how you’re feeling. Parenting can be so isolating, let alone in a foreign country where you are navigating so many unknowns and new experiences. Where are you living (if you’re happy to share)? I hope you find some comfort in this virtual village while you find your tribe in the ground x
Excited to have found your work. As someone who has spent well over a decade pretty much obsessed with the importance of community, motherhood has made that thing that I already knew we needed feel so much more urgent and essential. I have done many of what I call my "experiments in building community" since becoming a mom with varying levels of success and I'm looking forward to diving into your writing.

We're living in Ohio at present. I was born and raised in India.
Yes, I am looking forward to connecting with like minded mothers willing to build their own village here.❤️
